AMANDA HAWKINS, LCSW-C
Amanda Hawkins is a licensed clinical therapist at Life Change Therapy Now. She earned her graduate degree from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work and her undergraduate degree from Shepherd University.
Amanda is a seasoned practitioner who has provided psychotherapy in various settings including hospitals, schools, and homes. A significant portion of Amanda's clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, parents, and families. At Life Change Therapy Now, Amanda provides individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Her specific areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, social skills, self-esteem, divorce/separation, trauma, and parenting issues. Amanda incorporates play therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches in her practice.
Amanda comes from a strength based perspective and utilizes compassionate and empathetic approaches in the therapeutic process. She believes her clients already possess the ability to make the desired changes in their lives and therefore provides them with guidance, support, and encouragement
