She begins treatment by creating an atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with certainty that they are being understood rather than judged. She is an effective communicator, motivator, and advocate with inherent ability to work with all types of personalities and to assist in developing and achieving challenging treatment goals and objectives.
She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic strategies to tailor treatment to a person’s individual needs. Her main objective is to help clients learn more effective ways of coping and problem-solving that will lead to improved well-being and symptom reduction.
Elissa works with clients dealing with a variety of struggles, such as identity-based challenges, low self-esteem and shame, relationship issues, addictions, anxiety, parenting, life transitions, and stresses of daily life. Elissa also specializes in Dual Diagnosis, where both mental health and addiction are present. She is extremely knowledgeable of techniques to identify relapse triggers and coping skills that aid in recovery.
“You are not alone. We will face your challenges together. I look forward to working with you.”
