She is licensed to practice psychotherapy in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Elissa’s approach involves working together with clients to create a plan of action with practical solutions to resolve whatever challenges her clients may be facing. She begins treatment by creating an atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with certainty that they are being understood rather than judged. She is an effective communicator, motivator, and advocate with inherent ability to work with all types of personalities and to assist in developing and achieving challenging treatment goals and objectives.
She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic strategies to tailor treatment to a person’s individual needs. Her main objective is to help clients learn more effective ways of coping and problem-solving that will lead to improved well-being and symptom reduction.
Elissa works with clients dealing with a variety of struggles, such as identity-based challenges, low self-esteem and shame, relationship issues, anxiety, parenting, life transitions, and stresses of daily life.
She particularly enjoys supporting individuals and couples working to navigate issues with intimacy.
“You are not alone. We will face your challenges together. I look forward to working with you.”
