AN 8-WEEK WOMEN'S SUPPORT AND SKILLS BUILDING GROUP
For the Partners of Fist Responders, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, EMTs, Soldiers, Veterans, and other Emergency Personnel



This group is designed to provide
support, encouragement, skills training, guidance, and psychoeducation to women whose significant others are at high risk for PTSD, or who been diagnosed with PTSD, in the line of duty.



This group work will focus on:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an often misunderstood diagnosis that impacts many of our emergency personnel and veterans.

Building an understanding of PTSD and acute stress disorder, and their symptoms

Healthy communication strategies

Best ways to support your partner and yourself from the impact of PTSD and/or acute stress

Positive coping mechanisms
-
Relationship and parenting skills

Understanding an managing vicarious trauma

Importance of self-care
Leeann Randow, LCSW-C
This group will be facilitated by Leeann, a seasoned licenced clinical psychotherapist who has worked extensively with trauma. She is currently working towards her certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and towards designation as a MVF-SW (Military Veteran and Family Social Worker)..
