Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who provides therapy services to children,  adults,  families, and couples. She earned her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.

Shannon's past experiences includes providing school based counseling services to children ages 4 through 18. Additionally, she has received advanced training in trauma work and is a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT).  Shannon has been an active member of our local community, giving trainings, talks and doing podcasts about suicide awareness as well as other mental health topics. 

At Life Change Therapy Now,  Shannon sees a variety of presenting problems and conditions, including cases involving trauma, depression, anxiety, and family communication building. She focuses on providing services to women, families, couples, and youth. 

In therapy sessions, Shannon incorporates a person-centered approach to empower her clients in their recovery and to create a safe place for them. Based on her client's presenting problem and preferences, she utilizes a variety of interventions or approaches such as solution-focused therapy,  mindfulness techniques, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  Insight-Oriented Therapy, etc., to help her clients reach their identified goals.  

 

Therapy is a journey where two individuals connect for the common goal of finding the peace to move forward in healing.’
