Jess Lastner is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Hood College. This is also where she earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology.  Her experience in the field of mental health has primarily focused on treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety and trauma.

She recognizes the overwhelming evidence that strong therapeutic alliances between therapist and client lead to better treatment outcomes, and therefore aims to create a therapeutic environment that is safe, accepting, compassionate and collaborative with each of her clients.

Jess combines various treatment approaches and methodologies to help her clients achieve their treatment goals and find their own path towards healing. Treatment modalities such as person-centered, strength-based, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT),  Gestalt, and Existential Therapy are common approaches used by Jess. She offers individual, couples, and group therapy.

“The counseling experience can sometimes leave individuals feeling vulnerable as we confront things that are typically avoided.  I am here to make you feel comfortable navigating these unexplored areas.  As we work through these issues and the emotions that arise, we will work together to establish goals and discover coping skills that work specifically for you.”
