Michael is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. Mike has worked with a wide range of clients including children, pre-teens, adolescents, adults, couples, families, LGBT and trauma victims. His philosophy centers on empowering clients to discover the most effective tools that lead to alleviation of symptoms and resolution of life challenges.

 

Mike is a certified cognitive processing therapist who received specialized training from Kathleen Chard, Ph.D., co-author of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD: A Comprehensive Manual.   Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidenced based treatment for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with proven success in reducing PTSD symptoms. CPT is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies. To learn more about CPT, click here. 

In addition to CPT, Mike incorporates the use of other evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy (SFT), and anger management in order to meet the needs of his clients.
