Patricia Messina is a dedicated and compassionate psychotherapist specializing in trauma, addiction, marriage and family therapy, and grief counseling. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Slippery Rock University, providing her with a strong academic foundation and a deep understanding of human behavior and mental health.

Patricia began her career as an addictions counselor, spending 12 years helping individuals navigate the challenges of recovery and rebuilding their lives. Guided by her passion for supporting others, she went on to establish a private practice in Stuart, Florida, where she created a safe, supportive environment for clients facing emotional distress and personal challenges.

 

Committed to lifelong learning, Patricia has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and gambling addiction treatment. She is currently expanding her expertise through studies in psychodrama to further enhance her ability to facilitate healing and personal growth.

 

In addition to her clinical work, Patricia has collaborated with the court system on cases involving parental alienation, anger management, and DUI-related concerns. Her experience in these areas highlights her ability to provide structured, compassionate care for individuals referred through legal or court-mandated programs.

Now based in Frederick, Maryland, Patricia continues her mission to help those struggling with emotional pain, grief, and family conflict. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether in childhood, throughout life, or following recent events. Through her empathy, expertise, and gentle guidance, Patricia empowers her clients to heal and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
