A Psychoeducational Group for Teens

Overcoming Anxiety is a supportive, skills-based group for teens who want to better understand their anxiety, build confidence, and learn practical tools to manage stress in everyday life.

GROUP FOCUS

  • This group is designed for teens who experience anxiety, stress or self-doubt related to:

    • School and academic pressure​

    • Social relationships and peer interactions

    • Performance anxiety

    • Everyday stressors and life transitions

GROUP TOPICS

  • Understand anxiety and how it shows up in life

  • Identify and challenge anxious or negative thought patterns

  • Practice CBT-based coping strategies

  • Use mindfulness techniques to manage stress

  • Build confidence and emotional awareness

  • Connect with peers who "get it"

GROUP DETAILS

Ages: 14-17
Format: In-Person, small group
Length: 6 weeks- meet biweekly on Tuesdays
Start Date: Tuesday, January 13th, 2026
Time: 5:30pm
Location: 21 Byte Ct. Suite G Frederick, MD, 21702
Cost: $15 per session

This group is limited to 8 participants to maintain a small, supportive setting. Early registration is strongly recommended as space is limited!

Screening & Enrollment

All interested participants must complete a

15-30 minute screening call with one of the

group facilitators and a parent/guardian prior to enrollment. 

This process helps ensure the group is a good fit and supports a safe, respectful environment.

The screening includes:
 

  • Brief background and anxiety-related questions

  • Discussion of goals and comfort level with group participation

  • Review of confidentiality and group expectations
